Our Vision
To achieve sustainable, inclusive, safe, and well-governed urban development in Maharashtra through strengthened Urban Local Bodies, planned infrastructure development, efficient municipal administration, modern fire and emergency services, and citizen-centric governance for improving the quality of urban life.
Our Mission
- To strengthen and modernize Urban Local Bodies across Maharashtra through effective governance, institutional capacity building, administrative reforms, and transparent municipal administration.
- To ensure efficient delivery of urban civic services including water supply, sanitation, solid waste management, public health, urban infrastructure, environmental management, and e-governance through the Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA) and Urban Local Bodies.
- To promote planned, balanced, and sustainable urban growth through integrated urban planning, infrastructure development, housing initiatives, and implementation of development schemes by statutory authorities including Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT).
- To enhance fire prevention, life safety, disaster preparedness, and emergency response systems across urban areas through Maharashtra Fire & Emergency Services.
- To encourage adoption of technology-driven governance systems for improving efficiency, accountability, transparency, and citizen service delivery in urban administration.
- To support implementation of State and Central Government urban development programmes and reforms for creating resilient, environmentally sustainable, and economically vibrant urban centers.
- To foster coordinated urban development through effective policy formulation, inter-agency coordination, and citizen participation for ensuring improved quality of life for all urban residents of Maharashtra.
